After much research, we felt strongly advised to hire a driver in Costa Rica for safety, the narrow, windy paths, and unlighted roads. We were recomended to a driver named Memo. He was FANTASTIC! His cell phone number is 88114735.
Within the first hour of our arrival, we saw monkeys, monkeys, and more monkeys thanks to Memo's monkey expertise!
We decided to split the trip into two parts: The first half of the week would be in the Jungle and the last half would be on the white sandy beaches. Our first stop was to the The Springs Resort and Spa at Arenal . The Arenal Volcano is gorgeous.
We loved our hotel. It had several geothermal hot springs pools of varying temperatures.
The springs were incorporated into a swim-up bar.
In the jungle, we had a blast zip lining in our canopy tour.
We even braved the jungle river.
Josh, our son, had a little accident on the raft when he flew out of the boat. He survived just fine. I'm not so sure about his mom.
Caroline is a lover of all animals and kept begging us to go to an animal rescue center for a day to volunteer. So we did!! And it turned out to be one of our favorite experiences.
We ended the second half of our trip at the J.W. Marriott Guanacaste Resort and Spa. The Costa Rica beaches were beautiful and relaxing.
We highly recommend Costa Rica for vacationing!!
